The Summer Novel Festival (often shortened to SuNoFes) is an annual VN jam that takes place over the months of July and August.
History
This section needs expansion. You can help by adding to it. |
The first SuNoFes was hosted in 2015 by adirosa, but all subsequent events were hosted by Alte.
Overview
The event is focused on visual novels and story-based games in general, so entries can be quite varied in presentation. The event is meant to be low stress and encourage creators to finish their projects. There are no rewards or winners, and the hosts encourage cooperation and camaraderie. The self-imposed deadline is meant to spur developers into action.
Rules
- Anyone can start before the festival begins.
- Completing unfinished projects are welcomed.
- Releasing a playable demo is fine.
- Polished works are encouraged.
- There are no "winners." Anyone who reaches their goal during the festival has completed SuNoFES, though it is encouraged to submit- visual novels or story-based games [will not accept entries that depict sex (visual/ sound) or gore]
- You're allowed to submit 1 entry (visual novel / story-based game). Your team may submit another entry if you're working together.
- Will not accept entry that uses crowdfunding/ asks for donation outside of itch.io/ released for Android only
- Feel free to tweet your development progress at #sunofes
