Template:Jam series occurrence stats/doc

This template is used to display a table with all the occurrences of a given jam series, showcasing their critical statistics and URLs. It is used heavily in Template:Filtered jam series stats, which in turn populates most of the content on List of ongoing visual novel jams and List of discontinued visual novel jams.

Usage

This template accepts only one, unnamed parameter, which should be the name of a page within the Jam namespace. For example:

Variations

This template will dynamically adapt to the type of jam series it is provided. Jams may have prizes or not have prizes, and they may have versions or not have versions. Therefore, this template might appear one of four different ways:

  • No prizes and no versions (default)
  • Yes prizes, no versions (/prize)
  • No prizes, yes versions (/ver)
  • Yes prizes, yes versions (/ver-prize)

This template makes heavy use of subpages. The full list of subpages of this template is as follows:

All invocations of this template will utilize the /end template, which ends the table before the "show more detailed stats" button. The start and row subpages will be selected and utilized in the table based on the characteristics of the jam series (whether it has prizes or versions, neither, or both).

Dynamic features

If there is an article written about the jam, that article page should contain Template:Infobox jam. Therefore, it will have the Semantic MediaWiki property Is article for jam equal to the name of that jam. When this template (Jam series occurrence stats) is rendered, it will look for any articles where Is article for jam is equal to the provided jam name. If one exists, a link to that page will be displayed within a main article link.

If the series has detailed statistics to show (see Module:Jam series detailed stats), a button will be added underneath the table that reads "See more detailed stats", which will link to Special:RunQuery/Jam_series_detailed_stats for the jam series. (That page utilizes Template:Jam series detailed stats.)
