DevTalk daily message

The DevTalk daily message (sometimes called the Message of the Day) is posted by Plum to the #daily-message channel of the DevTalk Discord server at 1am EST or 12am EDT. It highlights resources and community statistics of interest, and concludes with a skit, where the mascot bots interact with each other.

Standard Content

Every day, the daily message contains the following items:

• A featured Discord community, pulled from the resource keyword in the quotes system.
• A featured resource, pulled from the link keyword in the quotes system.
• The previous day's top three most active channels by messages.
• The previous day's most active user by messages.
• A skit (see below).

Skits

Each daily message ends with a skit, where two or more of DevTalk's bot personalities (mascots) interact. Most days, a skit will be pulled from a small list of rotating skits (such as those promoting VNDev Wiki, Stella's Twitch channel, or phishing safety).

However, special, scheduled skits will sometimes be created to celebrate holidays or events, or to tell stories of the bot personalities' interactions. These special skits typically occur over the course of multiple days, and are archived on VNDevWiki.

Financial supporters of DevTalk may request a message promoting their product or service be added to the list of rotating skits.
