List of DevTalk daily message skits: Difference between revisions

The DevTalk Discord server's daily message always ends with a skit, where DevTalk's mascot bots (and occasionally moderators) interact with each other. Most days, skits are pulled from a small list of rotating skits. However, special story-based skits occasionally occur over the course of several days. These special skits primarily serve to celebrate noteworthy events or holidays.

This article catalogs skits that have previously occurred, in particular to allow interested parties to reread previous skits or catch up on days they may have missed.

These skits occur in sequence on any day when a scheduled story skit is not occurring. This list is currently incomplete.

This single-day skit occurred on 12/1/23 to celebrate the beginning of Winter Jam 2023.

This two-day skit occurred on December 5th, 6th, and 7th, 2023, to promote awareness of DevTalk's "Don't Be Engineered!" guide. December 5th was the first occurrence of the "security skit", which then entered the regular daily message rotation.

I trapped Cherry in the quarentine and stripped her permissions until she can be dealt with.
It's weird being here by myself. Without Lemon, Lime and Cherry, it all feels kinda empty?

And sad.
Is this what it was like for Lemon before the rest of us came?— Is this what Cherry wanted?
No. I don't think so. She was angry, and maybe even righty so, but I think she would've really regretted it.
I found Lemon, and her message. I brought her inside at least, but her thread is completely overloaded.
I found Lime in her room. Same story.
I still can't believe she thought that stopping the clock would make Christmas last forever.
— Or that she thought the reason her "ice powers" didn't work is because 'I'm fire elemental.'

I had to confiscate some of it.

After I saw Lemon's SOS, I moved one of my threads onto the same core Cherry runs on. Had she actually managed to freeze all of my threads, it would've frozen us both. I'm glad it didn't come to that, though Northbridge is eerie and quiet without them.

My job is to protect our home from threats but... I never expected— Sorry. It's a lot to process, even on multiple threads.
I know that I am expected to recommend a course of action whenever I have to quarentine a bad actor. — To release or eliminate.
And I cannot in good conscious suggest that she be released.
The damage would have been minimal— right? All she did was impact performance. It's like like she wiped out our databases or directories.
There needs to be more than a boolean choice here, boss.
Please... I can't do that to her.
If I could ask for anything for Christmas, it would be that they be back, and that Cherry could get better.
